2012

About Billion Electric

Billion Watts is one of the subsidiaries of Billion Electric Group (TSE: 3027). Since 2012, Billion Electric has begun to develop and produce the IoT (Internet of Things) products for intelligent energy management and combining over 50 years’ technologies of power electronics and ICT (information and communication technology). Joined by the Institute for Information Industry, Billion Watts provides the energy monitoring solutions for solar energy, schools, fish farms, apartment buildings, fast-food restaurants, power companies, factories, electric bicycle charging stations and other ESCO AC-side energy monitoring solutions. Our agent distribution channels cover North America, Western Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore), and South Africa.

2017

Billion Watts is founded.

Billion Watts was established in 2017, a new policy of new green energy was declared: "Achieving a power generating structure with 20% renewable energy, 50.% natural gas, and 30% coal-fired, in 2025.” The government was eager to promote national energy independence and a nuclear-free homeland by increasing the number of renewable energy installations to 20GWp. Thus, PV solar has become a long-term alternative energy solution to boost domestic solar upstream industry and private power plants investment. In 2017, Billion Watts was also invested and established by Billion Electric to provide high-quality equipment and professional technical services to assist Taiwan’s solar energy industry chain, including roof and landowners, investors, engineering contractors, maintenance operators, etc., creating the highest quality, safety and efficiency solar power stations to achieve the goal of energy sustainability.

2017-2020

Billion Watts acting as an agent for the world-famous brand of inverter

During 2017-2020, Billion Watts act as an agent of the world-famous brand of solar inverter -- Israel SolarEdge Technologies. SolarEdge is the leading inverter brand with top revenue, often exposed in major international solar energy magazines and selected as the Best Solar Inverter in the world by the Internet.

2019

Served more than 500 solar power plants accumulatively in Taiwan

As of 2019, we have served more than 500 solar power plants in Taiwan. From designing, planning, installation tutoring, grid-connecting to equipment warranty, after-sales service, we provide one stop service, step by step,  serve every customer earnestly . The types of power plants successfully connected to the grid include roof type, Floating type, ground type, and utility-level, large-scale power plants. The cumulative installed capacity has exceeded 100MWp in 2020.

Engineers of Billion Watts have Professional licenses that include: Class B industrial wiring, Class C indoor wiring, Solar energy installation Class B technician, Class C business supervisor for labor safety and health certificate, roof work supervisor safety and health certificate, Taiwan occupational safety card and first-aid personnel, etc.

2020

Total installation of Pixel View, BillionWatt’s utility-level PV monitoring system, has exceeded 120MWp

Billion Watts also developed its own enterprise-level solar power plant monitoring system called Pixel View, which has independent intellectual property rights that can be matched and used by every brand of investor in Taiwan. In 2019, the installation volume exceeded 120MWp. The monitoring system combined with the O&M of cleaning and serving was accepted by many Taiwanese institutional-level solar investors. It can provide the investors with a reliable and economical operation of power plant asset  for 20 years .

2021

Passed the Taipower Communication and Execution Ability Test for dReg 0.25/dReg 0.5 Ancillary Service

In 2021, the first MW grid-level AFC frequency regulation storage system was completed in Yilan, and it has passed the communication and execution capability test of Taipower's frequency regulation ancillary service. A total of 12 employees of Billion Watts also have passed the Taipower's Energy Trading Platform first phase professional qualification, and we have officially become the qualified private company in Taipower's auxiliary service market. At present, three sets of 2.5MW energy storage self-owned projects are under construction in the first stage, and the outbound customer demand has reached a level of 60MW.

2022

Four project fields consecutively passed the CNS/IEC 62933-5-2 VPC test. Ranking no.1 in the ESS industry.

Billion Watts became the first domestic company who aggregated the grid-connected energy storage resources. The group's second 2.3MW dReg Yilan energy storage project fields officially passed the Taipower AFC communication and execution capability test in August. This project field will, through aggregation, officially join the TPC power trading platform for AFC price bidding, operated by our qualified professional power trading platform trader.

This December, we have four project fields that consecutively passed the on-site test IEC/CNS 62933-5-2. These reports were issued by Bureau Veritas, the leading brand of global inspection agency, on December 2. Billion Watts became the private AFC energy storage company with the largest quantity of fields passing the VPC test at once. The verification process fully complies with the safety specifications of Taiwanese BSMI (Bureau of Standards Metrology and Inspection) for grid-connected energy storage system.
