TECO Australia & New Zealand Partners with Billion Watts and Tun Green to Advance Australia’s Renewable Energy Infrastructure
June 22, 2026
Representatives from TECO Electric & Machinery's (1504) Australian subsidiary TAC, Billion Watts, a subsidiary of Billion Electric (3027), and Tun Green Power gather to jointly announce their strategic partnership in Australian renewable energy.
TECO Australia & New Zealand (TAC), together with Billion Watts, a subsidiary of Taiwan-listed Billion Electric Co., Ltd., and Tun Green Power, today announced a strategic collaboration to advance the Seaspray Project and the upcoming Tranche 2 energy portfolio in Australia. The partnership brings together the three companies’ complementary strengths in renewable energy and energy storage integration, marking a significant step in bringing Taiwan’s high-quality engineering expertise and power infrastructure solutions to the Australian energy market.
The Seaspray Project, located in Victoria, Australia, is a 5.48MWp / 11MWh Solar + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. The three companies have jointly established a company in Australia to co-invest in the development of solar and energy storage projects, with TECO holding a 45% stake in the project and expected to secure the EPC contract.
Under this collaboration, TECO will serve as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contractor for the project. In addition, for the upcoming Tranche 2 distributed energy portfolio, with a planned capacity of 50MW / 200MWh, TECO will supply critical power infrastructure equipment, including high-efficiency transformers, Ring Main Units (RMUs), and switchgear.
TECO General Manager, Fei-Yuan Kao, Tun Green Power CEO Mei-Ling Lin, and Billion Electric Chairman Pedersen Chen.
TECO has been operating in Australia for over 40 years, initially focused on the supply of motors, power equipment, and air conditioning systems. The company has since expanded into the renewable energy and power sectors.
Stuart Walker, President of TECO Australia & New Zealand, stated that the Seaspray and Tranche 2 projects demonstrate TECO’s long-term commitment to the Australian market and its capability to provide critical grid-scale equipment and integrated energy solutions. He further noted that the projects reflect TECO’s ambition to continue expanding its green energy business and to become a leading renewable energy infrastructure solution provider across the Oceania region.
In this partnership, Tun Green serves as the primary battery supplier, deploying Tier-1 CATL battery technology to ensure long-duration energy storage performance and system reliability.
A key strategic partner and authorised after-sales service centre for CATL, one of the world’s leading battery manufacturers, Tun Green Power brings comprehensive system integration capabilities and cross-border project experience. Beyond supplying high-performance battery equipment, the company delivers grid-compliant solutions to the highest standards, supporting Australia’s energy transition and grid stability.
Mei-Ling Lin, CEO of Tun Green Power, said:
“By leveraging CATL’s advanced battery technology, we are confident in delivering highly reliable and efficient energy storage solutions that can support Australia’s accelerating clean energy transition.”
Billion Watts (BW) is responsible for system integration and project management, drawing on its technical expertise in Australia’s high-barrier grid environment and its experience navigating National Electricity Market (NEM) regulations and trading models. Elaine Chen, General Manager of Overseas Business at Billion Watts, said:
“Navigating land development and grid connection approvals in Australia is highly complex. Drawing on our hands-on local experience and BESS integration expertise, Billion Watts can effectively clear these land-use and technical hurdles, ensuring our projects achieve full safety and regulatory compliance while maximising long-term operational efficiency and profitability.”
By combining TECO Group’s international electromechanical engineering capabilities and high-quality power infrastructure equipment, Tun Green Power’s CATL battery solutions, and Billion Watts’ EPC expertise, the three companies have built a strong synergy to deliver high-performance, reliable energy storage and grid solutions for the Australian power market – and to position themselves as the preferred provider of renewable energy infrastructure solutions across Oceania.
